Hi, my name is Julia, and this is my first blog! I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise. I am in Slytherin which is one of the four houses in Hogwarts. I am here to tell you that Slytherin is not the bad house, it just has a bad reputation. I am not saying that all Slytherins are good or not evil. There have been many evil wizards that were in Slytherin but there have also been lots of good wizards that were in Slytherin. Many people will say that it was the house that turned them evil, because Salazar Slytherin who is the founder of the house was not the best person. But there have also been a lot of good wizards that were in Slytherin. For example, Severus Snape, Andromeda Tonks ( Nymphadora Tonks’s mother),Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Severus Potter( they are from Harry Potter and the cursed child), and Horace Slughorn.
Ron, one of the main characters, once said that there isn’t a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn’t in Slytherin. But that is not correct because there have also been lots of bad wizards that came from other houses. For example, Gilderoy Lockhart, Quirinus Quirrel, Rita Skeeter, and Peter Pettigrew were just a few wizards that were in other houses and they were all pretty evil. Hopefully this helped you understand that Slytherin is not the bad house, it just has a bad reputation.
